Smoothies to Smooth Those Abs
Last week, you received the MINX Bikini Diet Plan and Foods List. This week, we're going to give you some great ideas for smoothies and shakes that will not only taste great but help you get a flatter tummy faster.
Smoothies are a Weight Loss Powerhouse
Smoothies and shakes are a great way to supplement your diet and help you flatten your tummy, get the right nutrients and feel full and satisfied. Smoothies are naturally filling and satisfying, helping to keep you from feeling hungry, even if you don't have time for a meal.
Smoothies make it easy to control the nutrients in a meal, which is great for those who don't want to have to do a lot of planning to make sure they get what they need. They're a great way to incorporate several key ingredients into your weight loss plan. Two of the best weight loss helpers are:
Flax Seed: Flax seed provides a great supply of Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. If you don't particularly care for fish, avocados or olive oil, you may be seriously low in these essential fatty acids. Omega-3 and Omega-6 lower bad cholesterol, raise good cholesterol, stabilize your moods, increase mental function, increase metabolism and do wonders for your skin and hair. They are one of the great micro-nutrients.
Flax seed and flax seed oil are easily added to smoothies and shakes and are virtually undetectable and flavourless.
Psyllium husk is one of the best sources and types of soluble fiber you can add to your diet. Insoluble fiber doesn't dissolve in water, it absorbs it. What does this mean to you and your diet? Psyllium expands to nine times its size almost immediately after you ingest it. This leaves you feeling full for a good while, without adding extra calories. It also aids digestion, preventing the absorption of fat and sugar into your bloodstream. Like flax seed, psyllium husk in powder form will go unnoticed in your shake or smoothie.
Here are some excellent smoothies to try while on the MINX Bikini Diet Plan. They'll get you started, but you'll be amazed at how many great recipes you can come up with on your own, using the foods list.
Protein Powerhouse Shake
This one is great as a meal, especially for breakfast, when you need fiber and protein to start your day right. Blend one scoop of chocolate soy or whey protein powder, one sliced banana, 1 tsp. Psyllium husk, 1 t. flax seed 1/2c low-fat milk, ½ c. water and several ice cubes until smooth and creamy.
Mega Vitamin Booster
Don't let the name fool you, this one's high in protein as well, but packs a punch when it comes to Vitamin C and antioxidants.
Blend 1 c. Greek vanilla yogurt, ½ c. lowfat milk, several ice cubes, and 1c. of blueberries, blackberries, raspberries or any combination of these. Add 1 t. honey, 1 tsp. Psyllium husk, 1 tsp. Flax seed and blend until smooth.
Once you see how easy and delicious smoothies can be on your diet plan, you'll start coming up with new recipes for enjoying a cold, creamy shake throughout your day.
